A Different Cemetery

"Perhaps another time then...
My name is Kain, I'm of noble birth down to my entire familly's lineage."

Connan, now knowing the bleeding had stopped, removed the vine. Standing silent, knowing that this awkward three way meeting between strangers had to break one way or another, he said,

"Right. Well, if you'll both excuse me.", and walked towards the gate.

Jessica looked at at the man who had fed her "please wait don't leave me with him, i can sense he is evil and may do harm" she said standing up.

Kain smirked.
"Fear not, I will not harm you."

she turned to face him "i have no assurances of that" she said "my senses tell me other wise"

A slight burn in his conscience caused Connan to pause; he hadn't felt responsible for a person since...

"Come with me, then." He said to the woman, and offering a nod of acknowledgment to the male who'd joined them. At this point, it seemed they were content to leave one another to their own devices.

"On my noble forefathers I will not harm you."

Connan muttered "Someone as proud looking as that can, at base level be taken at their word when they swear on their ancestry. As it stands, I'm leaving; follow or not as you like."

Jessica looked at him then at the man who had fed her " I thank you for what you did but i can't, i have to stay here" she said moving back to the wall she looked at the man called kain "demons don't have forefathers" her voice now soft and less afraid "you are confusing, Mr kain"

Running a hand through his hair, Connan leaned against a stone pillar near the gate.

"Alright, fine. Guess I'll stay, if only for lack of better company."

"I am no demon.
I am of vampire.
You see, where I reign,
we have evolved."

Jessica looked at him her blue eyes now reflecting the light of the moon " vampires don't evolve,there ruthless pillagers and rapists of young women" she said her anger now growing " i know "

It seemed to anger him.
"Those savages are those who die by my sword."

Jessica stood up and let her clock fall reveling her slender body and pail skin "then kill me as i didn't ask for this or to be one of them" she said she stepped forward and waited

"Who ever heard of asking?"
His laughter cracked the quiet air.
"I was but a knight. Now look upon me and see what I am."

"Knights,vampires, demons..."

Connan let his mind drift, even as he stayed alert.

Jessica looked at him "are you what i am to become" she said "is it not bad enough i was taken against my will now i have to endure becoming like you, I pity who you once were, no i pity you now, all i am asking is to be held again to be loved " she turned her head away

"That is not impossible."
He cracked a smile.
"It takes many centuries to become like me."

"Speed, strength...blood lust... could...?"

Connan shook his head, clearing his mind. 'C'mon man, pull yourself together. Not likely they'd wipe out more than a hundred hidden, well armed humans for no reason, right? Think.'

she stepped closer to him " then am i to live the rest of eternity alone unloved" she said " I never love before i was turned and they said after it was impossible no man would love me by my sire "

"Nonsense. You love whoever you love."

Pulling himself out of his thoughts, he said "And love is for fools who fall behind... or those willing to watch someone die."

Shrugging uncomfortably in the night air, Connan absently cleaned the knife he'd used earlier.

"Last I heard, vampirism was reversible."

Jessica turned to the man her eyes wide , walking over she stood in front of him " please say you don't tease " she said "Is there such a thing as a cure, a way to become fully human again"
